Old Hum-Al-Band Kazoo Set of 3 with Instructions.
I am not sure of the age,
maybe from the 30s-40s era.
It is noted on the instructions that the Kazoos are aluminum - will not rust.
Also
noted, Do Not Blow-Just Hum! With practice, violin, steel guitar, and the mandolin can be imitated using a falsetto
voice. For brass instruments, a natural voice works best.
There are three in this set just in case you do what it says
not to- "Do not crush in hip pockets."
On each one is printed "Hum A Tune".
1939 New York World's Fair Souvenir Kazoo. Identical to the HUM-AL-BAND.
No information as to inventor or manufacturer.
If anybody knows anything about these Kazooz...PLEASE LET US KNOW.
THANX, Captain Kazoo

Hello, I just located your website and saw the picture of the "Old Hum-Al-Band Kazoo Set of 3 & Instructions".
In the text on the website you indicate that these can be used to mimic lots of different instruments.
ÊI can attest to that.Ê Many years ago
(1920's through the early 1960's), these were sold at state fairs by the inventor.
Ê He was a very good entertainer who had a bunch of 78 records,
old broken down instruments, etc.
Ê He would play the 78 records, pick up a broken down violin, a toilet plunger (as a trombone), a broken down guitar,
etc.
Ê He could make these "hum-a-tune" instruments sound just like the instruments.
Ê He would sell literally thousands of them and people would crowd
around to watch him perform, then line up and buy the set of three.
Ê I bought some myself and got pretty good at it.
Ê
In any case, I have been trying find some history on these instruments as well as their inventor (the guy I described above).Ê Do you have any information ?
