ALLAN SHERMAN

(1924-73)

An individual whose talent has not been fully appreciated. He worked as a writer in the broadcast entertainment industry just as it was changing from radio to television. Later, as a television producer, he was a co-creator of such television shows as "I've got a Secret". In 1962 he decided to start performing his own material and made an album of folksongs written in the "Jewish delicatessen" style called "My Son the Folksinger". A later album, "My Son the Nut", contained what became his best known song "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh."
