This is a very hard to find Popeye piece in this condition...the Northwestern Popeye kazoo pipe and a soft plastic sailor (captains) hat...on the original card. This combo was put out by Empire Plastic Corp. in Pelham, N.Y. (#693). The card still has the staple holding the hat to the card. The pipe is in beautiful condition...The card measures 9 1/2 x 15" and is great condition. There is a crease to the left of the hat in the cardboard. That's about the only flaw. The corners look good. No other rips or tears. Not sure of the actual age, because it's not listed. The pipe was manufactured about 1934...The hat is a soft blue pliable plastic. The pix shows dents that are easily pushed out. Popeye's name is on the brim, and has some paint loss on 3 letters. Buyer to pay shipping. FYI: This text was written by the seller and was copied directly from the eBay auction site. The Museum lost the bidding war on this fantastic piece so it becomes part of our "KAZOOZ THAT GOT AWAY" collection.
