The Fabulous Double Neck Cigar Box Ukulele designed and built in the U.S.A. by
Russ Kemner "Sonny Daze Musical Instruments"
O.K. This might me a little over the top. This is not a decoration or a toy but an actual playable musical instrument that sounds as good as it looks.
I guarantee you will be the only one on your block or in the world for that matter to own a double neck Sonny Daze uke, because it is the first one that I have ever made.
The label inside reads "Sonny Daze Musical Instruments Prototype Double-Neck No.1 April 2006".
This Ukulele is scaled as a concert (GCEA) on top and a baritone (DGBE) on bottom.
The necks are made of tiger maple, the nuts are paduak hardwood, the bridges are not glued down in the spirit of archtops and banjos and are made of Australian lacewood (hard stuff!).
The frets are low/narrow nickle-silver with markers at 3,5,7,10 & 12 on the concert neck; and at 3,5,7,10, 12 & 15 on the baritone neck.
The Cigar Box is permanently closed and has been doctored inside to enhance volume, resonance, and tone.
All acoustic - no electricity required !
The box measures 11 inches long X 8.5 inches wide X 2.125 inches deep. Total length is 30 inches.
Thank you, Russ Kemner, Luthier
FYI: A luthier is someone who is capable of crafting and repairing any of the many types of stringed instruments.
The French word "lutherie", used in both French and English, refers to the art of constructing string instruments.
The name luthier harkens back to early lute-makers.

This instrument can be played acoustically or electric with the internal Samba soundboard transducer.
A collection of Handmade Guitars
built by the late Dawson Sawlor, a resident of Florida.
Mr. Sawlor was featured in the Suncoast News as an inventor. His career covered working for
MIT as head of the Optical Projects laboratory. As a member of the Apollo Space Program he devised the "Densitometer" used to help select
the precise location for the first Apollo landing on the moon. Certificates are on file from both
agencies acknowledging his contribution to the Apollo space program.
These instruments were built by hand by Mr. Sawlor in his senior years. The absolute most unsual
collection of homemade musical instruments you may have ever come across.
